About the Opportunity

Job Nexus India is hiring a Backend Developer for one of its client organizations, Eonverse. This role is ideal for experienced backend engineers who enjoy building scalable, secure, and reliable systems, working closely with product and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will play a critical role in executing product strategy with a strong focus on customer needs, system reliability, and scalability. You will contribute to backend architecture for multi-module products, support production systems, and help evolve engineering best practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in iteration planning to ensure shared understanding of backlog items
• Collaborate on backend system design and architecture for complex, multi-module products
• Build and maintain scalable backend services with high reliability
• Participate in daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint ceremonies
• Identify and resolve blockers early to ensure smooth delivery
• Debug production issues, resolve incidents, and improve system stability
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and engineering process maturity
• Practice paired programming and test-driven development (TDD)
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of backend development experience in production environments
• Strong experience building REST APIs (pagination, versioning, error handling, clean contracts)
• Solid database knowledge, preferably PostgreSQL, with strong data modeling skills
• Experience with cloud environments (deployments, managed services, secrets management)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals (authentication, RBAC, least privilege, audit logs)
• Ability to deliver features quickly within sprint timelines without compromising quality

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Node.js (TypeScript) or strong backend fundamentals with willingness to adapt
• Familiarity with background jobs and queues (e.g., Redis-based workers)
• Experience with observability tools (logging, error tracking, performance monitoring)
• Exposure to TDD and integration testing in real-world systems
• Experience with Docker and environment-based configuration patterns

AI Tools Expectation

• Use AI tools for scaffolding APIs, generating test skeletons, refactoring helpers, and reducing boilerplate
• Review, harden, and ship production-quality code
• Focus on smart efficiency — not rushed or fragile implementations
